The Arts for Canadians Tomorrow Society (ACTS) promotes Canada’s diverse cultural mosaic by empowering marginalized communities and underrepresented artists. Through art exhibitions, performances, and presentations, ACTS fosters cultural exchange and public appreciation of visual and performing arts.
ACTS also prioritizes education by offering workshops, seminars, and community presentations, deepening public engagement with the arts. One of ACTS’s key initiatives is Toronto TAIWANfest, a multidisciplinary festival that highlights intercultural dialogue through programming in music, visual arts, literature, culinary arts, and community collaboration. The festival provides a meaningful platform for diverse communities to connect and share their stories through the arts.
This Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) application seeks to involve youth in arts programming, event coordination, and community outreach, providing practical skills and real-world experience while supporting ACTS’s mission of inclusivity and cultural celebration.
To be eligible for this position, applicants must be between 15 and 30 years old at the start of employment, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada, and be legally allowed to work in Ontario. Please note that international students are not eligible.
Job Description:
The Community Outreach Worker will support the organization in deliver its community-based arts and cultural initiatives. This role offers a youth participant the opportunity to gain practical experience in public engagement, community partnership building, and cultural outreach. The youth will work in a collaborative environment to help amplify diverse voices and foster inclusive arts programming that reflects Canada’s multicultural society.
